Hobbies

I love when my kids find something they love and spend all their spare moments creating.  I don't think we are a particularly 'artsy' family and since they are older now, we don't have tons of crafts decorating our house.  But, recently they both have picked up some fun hobbies.  E- taught herself how to draw people from some website (Chibi?) and now carries around pencils and drawing pad wherever she sits. Not sure I love all the eraser remnants on the couches... but she is having a blast and drawing some fun characters!  M- still into his duct tape creations, but I am trying to discourage any further weaponry construction.  Seriously, how many weapons does one boy need?!  Anyway, he created the TARDIS from Doctor Who the other day (not a weapon!).  So as they sit and watch their BBC shows (about the only thing they watch at the moment), they litter the family room with their supplies and busy themselves with their artwork.

And onto BBC shows - watch them... they are really good!  So much better than the American sitcoms. We watch most from Netflix, but some you can catch in real time.  Here's the list:  Merlin, Downton Abbey, Sherlock! (super clever and Benedict Cumberbatch...I love him), North and South (not the Patrick Swayze one from the 80's - though I love that too), Doctor Who (I don't watch this, but the kids love it), Robin Hood... Enjoy:)
